Maze of Lost Souls and Demona
Step 1 Open the way into the maze
Bring a shovel and a rope. About 130 squares east and 85 north of the Carlin temple, in the Fields of Glory, dig the loose stone pile at 32490,31697 with a shovel and step into the hole. On floor 8 walk to the trapdoor at 32480,31721 (wolves on the way), on floor 9 walk east through a troll cave into a small underground forest and drop into the hole between the trees at 32526,31723. Pull the lever at 32528,31724 on floor 10 so that it points right: it opens the hole at 32483,31633 on floor 9, the entrance to the Maze of Lost Souls. The hole stays open until the next server restart - if the lever already points right, the hole is open, and pulling the lever back does not close it.
Step 2 Through the energy fields to the level 30 gates
Climb the ladder at 32526,31723 back up to floor 9 and walk to that hole, about 240 squares past trolls: west towards the ladder at 32480,31721, north along the long passage through 32484,31690, north-west to 32449,31640, east along the top to 32470,31621 and then south and east into a small room full of energy fields. A line of energy fields closes off the hole, so you have to step through one of them. You land at 32483,31633 on floor 10, in a small room with a warning sign from Zhandramon; its ladder takes you back up. Four gates of expertise lead out of the room and each needs level 30 - the maze route starts behind the east gate at 32486,31633.
Step 3 The maze, part 1: the sewer grate and two rope spots
Behind the east gate use the sewer grate at 32494,31637 (floor 10), then follow these trapdoors, ladders and rope spots in this order - the number in brackets is the floor each of them is on: trapdoor 32502,31644 (floor 11), ladder 32506,31662 (12), trapdoor 32519,31656 (11), trapdoor 32519,31652 (12), rope spot 32480,31646 (13), trapdoor 32470,31668 (12), ladder 32500,31677 (13) and rope spot 32525,31697 (12), which takes you up to floor 11. You need a rope. In a side room north of the first rope spot a sign says 'Pull the lever!' - do not pull the lever at 32488,31628 (floor 13): it vanishes and leaves you surrounded by energy fields. Along the route you meet trolls, goblins, orcs, minotaur archers and mages, bears, ghouls, hunters, spiders, wasps, snakes and a cyclops; dragons, dragon lords, giant spiders and beholders live in the side passages, so do not wander off.
Step 4 The maze, part 2: down to floor 15
On floor 11 walk through 32505,31725 and 32465,31722 to the trapdoor at 32422,31706. Then: ladder 32419,31699 (floor 12), trapdoor 32410,31623 (11), ladder 32418,31596 (12) and ladder 32429,31579 (11), which brings you up to floor 10. The longest walk follows on floor 10: through 32425,31603, 32424,31654 and 32445,31651 to the trapdoor at 32486,31688. Climb the ladder at 32507,31693 (floor 11), walk on floor 10 through 32455,31692, 32461,31732 and 32496,31710 to the trapdoor at 32521,31726, and drop through the trapdoors at 32513,31726 (11), 32512,31726 (12) and 32511,31725 (13) into a small room on floor 14 with a 'Welcome to Demona' blackboard. The stairs at 32511,31721 lead down to floor 15.
Step 5 The Griffin Shield room (level 30)
The stairs bring you into the reward room of the maze, guarded by 3 elf arcanists, 2 stone golems, 2 dwarf guards and a minotaur guard. The obsidian lance lies in the dead human at 32498,31721, the griffin shield in the pile of bones at 32500,31721 and the dwarven axe in the pile of bones at 32503,31724. Each has its own quest number and opens once per character, so one character takes all three. This room needs only level 30, but the teleport to the surface lies behind the level 60 gate - below level 60 you walk back through the maze (see the last step).
Step 6 The level 60 gate and the star room of Demona
At the west end of the room pass the gate of expertise at 32483,31722, which needs level 60, walk north through the pillared hall and take the stairs at 32458,31677 up to floor 14. This is the star room of Demona, with 6 warlocks, 2 elf arcanists and 5 stone golems and energy fields in the middle of the star. Three staircases lead from it down to the treasure rooms on floor 15: in the north at 32479,31651, in the north-west at 32450,31654 and in the north-east at 32508,31654.
Step 7 The treasures of Demona
Crystal Wand: the north stairs lead to a corridor going north into a chest room with 6 dragons and 3 warlocks. The chest at 32479,31611 holds a bag with a sudden death rune and a letter from Ferumbras, the chest at 32481,31611 the crystal wand. Purple Tome: from the north-west stairs walk north, west along the wide corridor and north along the passage at x 32434 into the library, where no monsters spawn. The bookcases at 32423,31591 and 32428,31591 hold two maps, the one at 32421,31594 the purple tome. Rings: from the north-east stairs walk north along the corridor at x 32507 into a hall with 5 elf arcanists and a warlock and take the stairs at 32504,31577 up to floor 14. There, guarded by 2 warlocks, the chest at 32504,31596 holds a stealth ring and the chest at 32515,31596 an energy ring. Every chest and bookcase gives its reward once per character.
Step 8 The way out
With level 60 leave through Demona: take the north-west stairs of the star room (32450,31654) down to floor 15, walk north and then west along the wide corridor past 2 warlocks, 2 elf arcanists and a stone golem, and south to the magic forcefield at 32400,31656 near the 'Teleport to the surface' sign. It takes you to 32492,31697, two squares from the stone pile you started at. Below level 60 you have to walk back through the maze: go back the way you came - every trapdoor on the route has a ladder under it - up to the trapdoor at 32429,31579 on floor 10, then take the hole at 32404,31570 (floor 11), the ladder at 32446,31618 (12) and the ladder at 32468,31630 (11). You come out on floor 10 next to the entrance room: pass its west gate, climb its ladder and step through the energy fields again. On floor 9 walk back the way you came in as far as 32483,31668 and north-east to the ladder at 32513,31656; on floor 8 the ladder at 32512,31622 takes you up to the surface at Northport.
