Reward
Step 1 Into the caves south-west of Mortha
The same way in as for the bright sword: about 80 squares south-west of the Mortha temple drop into the hole at 31416,32343 on the surface, then through the hole at 31417,32337 on floor 8 down to floor 9. Bring a rope.
Step 2 The vampire crypt
On floor 9 use your rope on the hole in the ceiling at 31394,32321 and walk west on floor 8. The vampire shield lies in the chest at 31371,32313 (floor 8), from level 20. Five vampires and carrion worms guard it.
Step 3 Way back
Drop through the hole at 31394,32321 on floor 8, then use your rope at 31417,32337 (floor 9) and at 31416,32343 (floor 8).
